Meet Anna: A Bride-to-Be Rethinking Micro Weddings
A wedding musician's perspective on intimate, intentional celebrations at Otherwise Creative
Hey! I’m Anna. I'm a 29-year-old bride-to-be getting married in 2027 and part of the team helping Otherwise Creative reimagine what micro weddings can be. I'm planning my own wedding while working behind the scenes of many others, which puts me in a unique position: I'm experiencing the emotions, decisions, and questions couples face today while drawing on years of insight into how weddings actually come together.
I'm a professional cellist and co-founder of Vintera String Quartet. I've been working in the wedding industry since I was 14 years old—the age I played my very first wedding. Since then, I've been part of countless celebrations, from large traditional weddings to the most intimate gatherings. Being a musician means I often see weddings unfold in a quiet, observant way: I notice timing, energy, guest experience, and the small moments that make a day feel effortless (or not).
Over the years, I've experienced weddings from every perspective: the polished final celebration and the thoughtful planning that happens behind the scenes. I've seen how intentional choices can simplify the process and elevate the experience. Again and again, it's the smaller, well-designed weddings that leave the strongest emotional impact—and feel anything but small.
At Otherwise Creative, I'm helping shape a micro wedding experience that doesn't feel micro at all. Our focus is on weddings that are intimate but immersive, thoughtfully designed, and deeply personal. Through this blog and my advice column, I'll be sharing insights from years in the wedding world combined with my perspective as a modern bride to help couples imagine a wedding that feels just right for them. I can't wait to share more stories, lessons, and ideas with you here.
Love,
Anna
